Authentic Ethiopian Food, great atmosphere, and location. The food is great and has good vegan options. Only one hostesses/bartendar so be prepared to wait. They were not super busy and this was my first time so hopefully they have the young lady some help on busy days. She was pleasant and attended well to our needs.
Delicious food, fast and friendly service. I went alone and enjoyed myself fine, but this style of eating is great for sharing. Wonderful vibes. There is a small pay to park lot nearby, but I recommend walking up for convenience.
We Googled Vegan in Durham an Goorsha popped up first. What a pleasant surprise. We sat at the bar. Fantastic service. I suggest the Sambusa appetizer. Wonderful flavor and the Deko sauce was off the charts. The vegan entrée was an outstanding melody of flavors. I suggest the beet root salad side too. We topped of the meal with Ethiopian coffee and the Apple Sambusa. What an wonderful meal, second only to the pleasant service and conversations. 10 stars! Thank you !
The food was delicious and my friends and I met the owner and chatted for a bit, learning more about the food and the benefits it has on our body. The staff was nice and the location was an intimate size, which was perfect! I really enjoyed the Ethiopian music that was lightly playing in the background too. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Came for lunch with a coworker, and we're waited on by the owner, Fasil. Such a genuinely nice guy, and you could absolutely see the pride he had for us to be his customers. There aren't many places you can go and encounter the actual owner AND their appreciation for your business. We started with Sambusas and Deko sauce. Savory and simple, but the Deko was an incredible touch. I had the Zilzil Alecha, and it was absolutely tender, savory, and decadent. I'm not even sure what my coworker got, but we both were absolutely satisfied with the app and lunch. Will definitely be back! I've been wanting to get Ethiopian for the longest time, and I am NOT disappointed. Amazing!
This was our second time trying Ethiopian food, and we’re getting more used to the slightly sour wrap and the unique flavors of the main dishes. The sides—Gomen and Misir Alecha—were tasty, but the real highlights were the entrées. The Gored Gored beef and Awaze Tibbs lamb were well seasoned, tender, and juicy. The Shrimp Awaze was a bit spicier than our usual preference, but still enjoyable when eaten with the wrap.
One of our absolute favorite places in Durham!! The food is amazing, staff is knowledgeable and quick. The patio is great. The owner is also always so kind and welcoming. We are always looking forward to our next trip back!

As a restaurant photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to experience cuisines from many cultures, and I was genuinely impressed by the depth of flavor, the quality of the ingredients, and the thoughtful use of spices in every dish I tried. What made the experience even more memorable was spending time with Fasil, whose passion for Ethiopian cuisine and hospitality is evident in everything he does. We had a wonderful conversation about food, culture, and flavors from around the world. It was refreshing to meet someone who shares such a deep appreciation for authentic cuisine. If you’re looking to experience traditional Ethiopian food in the Triangle, Goorsha is absolutely worth the visit. Come hungry, be adventurous, and don’t skip the injera—it brings the entire meal together. Thank you, Fasil, for introducing me to fresh ginger in my morning black coffee. I’ve been making it that way ever since, and every cup reminds me of the wonderful meal and conversation we shared. Highly recommended!
